Role of Quaid-e-Azam in Consolidation of Pakistan



Pakistan came into existence after a long and intense freedom struggle and had to face many problems soon after its birth. Quaid-e-Azam worked very hard to consolidate the country and put the government on sound settings. His main contributions are as follow:

Formation of the Central Government:

Quaid-e-Azam advised the government officials to consider themselves servants of the people and not their rulers. He made stirring speeches to revive faith, confidence, courage and determination among the people. The government officials worked with zeal and national spirit under the most difficult conditions. In a short time the government of Pakistan started working smoothly on sound lines.

Establishment of State Bank of Pakistan:

To stabilise the economic conditions of the country the State Bank of Pakistan was opened on 1 July 1948. Pakistan issued its coin and currency notes.

Foreign policy:

Quaid-e-Azam played a great attention to the foreign policy which he based on mutual friendship and equality. Priority was given the strong relations with Muslim countries Pakistan became a member of UNO on September 30th 1947 to play its role for world peace.


During the short period of 13 months that he lived, Quaid-e-Azam fully devoted himself to the task of consolidating and strengthening the newly born state of Pakistan.
